We want you to join us at Calgary Expo! 

We’re bringing our P1 Creator Feature to the Calgary Comic and Entertainment Expo. Creators will have the opportunity to take over a table in our booth space as a featured P1 member. 

It’s a great opportunity to:

• Get experience at the Calgary Comic and Entertainment Expo
• Grow your audience, gain exposure and sell your work
• Promote the Panel One community and our upcoming festival

What you’ll be committing to

Members who apply and are accepted will commit to a 2-hour shift. You’ll have an access badge for those two hours.

We encourage you to use our creator’s table in our booth to work on an ongoing project, sell your work, hang out with our incredible volunteers and help us promote the Panel One as well as the Festival.

Application process

After the success of the P1 Creator Feature at the Edmonton Comic and Entertainment Expo, where we tested this out, we have decided to move to an application process for the P1 Creator Feature. 

We’re not curating our feature – it’s about making sure that we offer fair opportunities to our members. 

Here are the application basics:

• Applications are first evaluated on a first-come, first-served basis – the earlier you apply, the better your chances of participating in the feature.
• Priority will be given to creators who have not participated in an Expo Creator Feature in the past (including Edmonton Expo 2025 participation).
• Participants need to have a minimum of one (1) comic at the table.
• We will be checking to make sure that all applicants have signed up to be a Panel One Member.

Application timeline:

• Applications open on Wednesday, April 1, 2026
• Applications will close on Wednesday, April 8 at 11:59 pm.
• Application decisions will be sent out by end of day on Monday, April 13.

Know the fine print:

Using the space and selling your work:

• Members who table with us must be able to pack in and out within one trip. 
• You will have access to a table that will be 4 – 8 ft long (depending on what the organizers provide us) and you can put out your work on this table. Creators will be limited to their promotional items being on the table.
• Payment/taking payment is the responsibility of the creator and through their own methods. Panel One cannot take payment for creators. 

If accepted, please note the following:

• Be prepared to talk about your work, the comics process, Panel One, the festival, etc. to guests of the Expo.
• The Tuesday before the expo, you will receive an email with your P1 contact for the day, the location to meet them before entering into the hall, details of our booth, etc.
  • We ask that you contact via text or phone call once as you arrive at the venue to give your P1 contact enough time to meet you at the location.
• P1 will share on social media channels that you’re at our booth. This will involve 1 feed post and 1 story post before/during. 
• If you need to cancel your shift, we kindly ask that you provide us with 24 hours notice via email at info@panelone.ca. If an emergency or illness happens, we kindly ask you contact your P1 contact before your shift starts via their contact information provided in your pre-event email. 

BADGES MUST BE RETURNED BEFORE LEAVING THE BMO CENTRE. 

ONLY 1 SHIFT PER CREATOR IS ALLOWED.
