Punisher Magazine #1, I was visiting my cousin in the early 90’s, and I came across this book, and the cover just pulled me right in, I think Mark Texeira was the cover artist on it
What inspired you to make comics? A specific story? Writer? Artist?
Mike Zeck, it’s my first memory of seeing comic art. It was printed in black and white in the very first comic I read Punisher Magazine #1 that just blew me away.
What do you like about comics? What is it about them that interests you? Inspires you? Moves you?
I like the art the best, it’s the driving force as to what I will pick up, I have bought a great deal of comics that aren’t necessarily greatly written, but if I can still go through it simply because I want to look at it, that is something special
What is the most important thing people need to know about comics?
What comic would you recommend to a first-time reader?
Depends on the person, there is a lot to choose from.
As an artist, what medium do work in? Pencils? Ink? Digital?
Pencil & ink

I start off doing something that’s I can accomplish easy, just to get things moving

My office in my house
Do you listen to music when you work? Other background noise?
I usually put on movies that run a little long that I’ve seen before, serves as good background noise. There are some movies that I can quote verbatim, because of this.
Trying to find a layout solution that I feel make a page sing, when it starts taking too long that gets frustrating.
What three words would you use to describe your work?
Fun, cartoony, energy.
What is your favourite place to go in Calgary?
I have two, and they’re kind of lame answers, but my two are my house, because it’s my batcave, and the gym, since rediscovering fitness, it has help a ton in all areas of my life.
Sports, when you learn the underlying narrative that sports can create, it’s great.
