What was the first comic you read?

Can’t remember which was the FIRST, but the one I remember BEST was a copy of Web of Spider-Man Vol 1 #100

What inspired you to make comics? A specific story? Writer? Artist?

I’ve always wanted to make comics, but I think I was really inspired by watch Anime and reading Manga as a teenager, mostly Dragon Ball and Yu-gi-oh.

What do you like about comics? What is it about them that interests you? Inspires you? Moves you?

The stories that build up over time creating years and years of lore. I am inspired by the fans of comics to keep making them!

What is the most important thing people need to know about comics?

That you don’t need to be a die hard. Comics are for everyone! If you like something, you are allowed to like it the way and the amount that you want, and don’t let the haters or the gatekeepers stop you.

What comic would you recommend to a first-time reader?

Scott Pilgrim for fun adventure, Sandman for a dark exploration of the art.

As an artist, what medium do work in? Pencils? Ink? Digital?

Pencil and Ink to draw, then cleaning up the pages in Photoshop.

As a writer, pen or keyboard?

Keyboard.

What’s the first thing you do when you sit down to work? Do you have a routine?

Nope! We play it loosey goosey. When inspiration hits, we build from there.

Do you have a set work space? Where?

My computer desk is my art desk!

Do you listen to music when you work? Other background noise?

I watch a lot of Youtube vids, or listening to Podcasts when I’m drawing.

Frustrations/challenges?

I never have enough time!

If you had to pick one comic as a favourite, what would it be?

Lucky Penny by Yuko Ota and Annanth Hirsh

What is the natural talent you’d like to be gifted with and why?

Just being totally hot and fly. For the obvious reasons.

What three words would you use to describe your work?

Dangerous, Dangerous and DANGEROUS.

What is your favourite place to go in Calgary?

Red’s Diner. Their hash plates are crazy delicious.

Future projects you are working on/would like to work on:

We have a super secret project in discussion right now, but this year (2016) we’re going to be launching a KickStarter for our Children’s Book “Emily and the Monsters Under the Bed”

Unlikely inspiration?

Stand-up Comedy specials. They help me get the pacing of my stories to flow better.
